Our future scenario is depicted in a highly developed technology, serious world of scarce resources. In that world, energy is extremely valuable, carbon emissions also have been strictly controlled. The energy challenges facing humanity is: When in short supply, the price will soar; pollution emissions on the environment and health threats; energy security is heavily dependent on the result of the country’s energy. (Song 2014) With the development of science and technology in modern society, people’s economic conditions and lifestyle influence people’s food choices and eating trends. Urban diet westernized, become fast food and processing technology. (Ling 2013) From the material to the resource rich era to a tight era, people have to find ways to survive in the outside, to maximize the improvement of their living standards and enhance the sense of happiness.

The appetite is one of humanity’s greatest desire. From the original period began, numerous examples prove that the human’s quest for food is endless. In the future such a world of scarce resources, perhaps only most people eat the most efficient, with minimal resources in daily life while satisfying the human body needs food to sustain life compression. Humans have to think of ways to use other ways to satisfying their appetite desire.

A design designer Sorina Răsteanu satisfy this desire of mankind. It is an intelligent kitchen appliance group, it can reproduce the taste and smell of food according to your preference.

The cutlery consists of two parts, one is the cutlery itself, on the other hand is placed at the head of a microchip. As shown, the head is attached to the microchip. By this microchip, cutlery with our brain cells will have some interact, the registration of food we like about the taste and aroma.

If the cutlery knows what we like to eat, when we started using the memory function, we eat no matter what by the cutlery, since the brain’s miscarriage of justice, we will feel that we are eating the favorite food like that. This is a big gospel for those people who do not like to be forced to eat their own food, and eat their favorite food but eat less.

Sorina Răsteanu this design can not only save energy, but also brought a very big advantage for those who want to control diet.

It is also a diet expert guidance. By food on dishes, cutlery can distinguish itself nutritional content of food and opposite the nutrient intake to have a registration. For example if there is an excessive amount of calories or sugar intake, this smart cutlery will automatically remind you to pay attention to your diet.

This makes people do not have to make excessive intake of sugar and fat to go exercise again. It can save and control lots of recourse for our future like that. For individuals, saving a lot of time and effort, for macro reducing energy use and reducing carbon emissions. Through advances in technology, so that people’s lives more simple and more efficient.

Technology in Future with the Experimental Art.

QQ图片20151030080158

Kirsten is a student in Nanjing Art Institute and her major is experimental art.

Kirsten think that is very important of technology on contemporary art and can not be ignored.

About my emphatically question about the impact of technology on contemporary art, she says, “Without science and technology, may be many great works of art will gone.” This view is agree d by most of people. The emergence of Pop Art, science and technology progress, is cultural phenomenon of commercial competition and the emergence of industrial development under the combined effect of many industrial materials are used as art material, stainless steel, plastic, chemical fiber, neon light tubes can also become a sculpture raw materials. The promote by scientific and technological development to the arts can not be ignored.

Another important point that Kissten said is the impact of technology on art is permeable. From the creation of the root causes which affecting the art look. She began to talk about the art from World War II, while give me the comparison of technological development and contemporary art to explain the important, this is what impressed me a lot. She gave the example of the neon done by Tracey Emin to explan this point to me. I have got some similar view with her. Creative thinking and conceptual of artists in some extent, affected by the historical era in which the political, economic, cultural and technological aspects. The digital technology is such popular that as a modern technology, is will bound to affect the artist’s creative thinking and processes to let them create more works about art contain digitized elements.

Kisten is very optimistic to the development of new technologies. Her attitude is inclusive and open, “I think the advancement of technology gives us more possibilities, this possibility also for the artistic diversity provides fertile ground.” When I asked about her own creation whether the time will be to use the new technology, she readily replied not reject, but not overly dependent. I think that freedom of thought and creativity independent to an artist is a very good and important.

K:Kirsten Lee

K: Hi Red.

R: Hi Kirsten.

R: Hello. Can you easily tell us about yourself?

E: I am a student in Nanjing Art Institute.

R: What’s your major?

E: laughs) experimental art.

R: That are the different between experimental art and traditional art?

E: experimental art is more tend to contemporary art. Unlike traditional painting, we are encouraged to be creative with a variety of materials, the media also has become enriched. Sculpture, installation, video and even lighting can be your creative medium.

R: It sounds very cool. So what do you think your future will be like?

E: I think in the future, the media will become more abundant. Throughout the contemporary art which after World War II, you will find that in the past, many famous works are confined to the easel painting and installations. But in recent years, there has been a lot of media work more on the exhibition. In addition to paintings and installations, video and lighting works are also more and more. Like two years ago in Shanghai K11Z exhibition, that Yayoi Kusama exhibition “I have a dream”, there is a mirror with light and space to do the work. Do you know about that the exhibition?

R: Yes, I know. but I was not home that time, so I can only saw some pictures on the Internet. Honestly from the scene that the picture looks really great.

E: Yes, Kusama is a very great artist.

R: Do you think science and technology for the future of contemporary art are important? In the perspective of a creator, can you talk about this?

E: I think they are very important. I just said someone even use imaging and lighting to do the artwork. As we all know, the lighting and imaging technology has made rapid progress in recent decades. Many contemporary artists are keeping up with technological development. Often much higher in the acceptance of new technologies than the average person. In the use of more active. If Tracey Emin in today, the well known one may not be her neon artwork, but LED artwork, hahaha.

R: Hahahahaha, your example really makes sense.

E: Oh, that was just a joke (laughs

R: So what do you think the future will be?

R: If we don’t have today’s technology, what changes you think there will happen to the pattern of contemporary art?

E: If there is no technology, it may be lose many great works. Occupy the main market will still be the easel painting and sculpture.

R: Can you give some examples? With some well-known works as an example.

E: Damien Hirst with his famous works “The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living” is a shark immersed in formaldehyde solution prepared. If human did not invent the formalin preservative technology, then this work would never have been born. If the anti-corrosion technology is not advanced, it will bring great trouble. Because contemporary art is particularity, in the storage and transport it is more troublesome than traditional art.

R: So the technology is a new trend in the contemporary art world? Is there someone no denial of the use of new technology?

E: Of course. Some artists have their own prefer things, even stubbornly only with the traditional process. In addition to retro addition, choose this way also can reflect the artist’s personality. Tracey Emin as an example there are a lot of embroidery art. I think this is closely related with her female identity.

R: how do you think about the impact of technology on contemporary art?

E: I think the advancement of technology provides us with more possibilities, this possibility also for the artistic diversity provides fertile ground.

R: Yes, Can you boldly predict the future relationship between technology and art? Just ask you in the past.

E: ah, I’m sorry I tend to change the topic. I think the future of technology should be able to achieve a breakthrough in terms of human perception. For example, there have been 3D visual images, 4D holographic projection, the sense of hearing with a stereo, I think the future should also be a breakthrough in the sense of touching. By the time the artist’s work may be more let people to feel virtual reality, and as a greater extent convey what you want to convey to the audience.

R: Are you going to concern and the use of the latest technology, and tend to use them to complete your work it?

E: I will be concerned about it, also at the time in the creation to take into account of new technology. But I will not place undue reliance on new technology. I like to try a variety of media, to find their own more possibilities.

R: Thank you very much for your cooperation!

E: You’re welcome.

Privacy and Big Data.

It is indubitable that the world has entered an era of big data. Big data refers to a concept that human can capture, manage, process, and transfer all the useful information, which were too large for human to analyze before, to a form that human can interpret in a reasonable time with the help of machines or computers.

In my opinion, combined with the effective popularization of new technologies, both the rapid developments of Internet and significant breakthrough in the technology of data storage help prepare the upcoming era of big data.

big_data

Obviously, big data provides people lots of benefits. “Cloud computers bring up a way of commercial services that centralize the constructions to reduce the unit cost of computing and storage.”(Guo 2014) It means that big data can cut some costs that are not necessary and help the business increase potential profits. For example, by analyzing the data of potential customers, companies will be able to design special advertisements that directly target the potential customers. In this case, fewer advertisements will be able to achieve the same effects and the investment cost of promotion will be saved.

“The nature of changes that driven by Big data methodology is that human behaviors become more and more virtualized. In the previous history, no one would know whether it was a human or a dog chatting on The Internet. However, the linguistic analysis, natural semantic processing, image processing, signal processing, accurate prediction of the relationship can expose the truth under the cover of people’s trace. It leads to the amount of data double increased in past two years.” (Shan 2014)

The-Big-Risks-of-Big-Data-Mining

It is true that, at the beginning of the era of Internet, there was once a buzzwords word saying, “you don’t even know whether you are talking to a dog on the Internet.” In that time, people’s identities on The Internet were more concealed so that people were able to gain more freedom on The Internet. People could make any statement publicly online without exposing their identities. Because they could speak anything that they were afraid to speak in reality freely, some people even believed they can only be themselves online.

“When here comes the big data period, we are more transparent on The Internet – every sentence you declared online can be recorded, staying online to be viewed by lots of people. ” (Ling 2011) Nowadays, people may intend to discuss private topics online. However, I think, with the upcoming of big data period, it is nothing surprising that any behaviors a person made online will be possibly recorded. Every clicking, every searching, and every typing will be monitored. It was just like there are invisible cameras watching you 24 hours a day and seven days a week. It sounds like Director Orwell’s movie《1984》, “The big brother is watching you.” As a result, people will probably speak more carefully on The internet than in reality. There may even appear people who refuse to use The Internet to protect their private information and build a relatively safe environment.

Technology at the border.

With the advancement of technology, the development of productivity and the prosperity of economic, the border defenses are constantly moving to the direction of  more complex, more secure and more science and technology content. But I think no matter in which era, border defense technologies are the peak of current technological and human and material resources(Wang 2015). Chinese ancient Great Wall is one of the world’s attention intangible cultural heritage, but also the most well-known design of a border defense. As the huge amount of construction, even use today’s science and technology is still seem daunting to build it, not to mention in hundreds of years ago. From the source, the border defense system is a very important part of the country to keep safety, this is why they make the countries put the best human and material resources into the design and construction. Of course, this is why they were far more than the average construction levels.
In the future, from the perspective of advantageous economic development and cultural prosperity, the peaceful will be a more likely trends. During in the peacetime, the border defense will not be like rattling like during the war, but also not just make it look good. More undercurrent hidden under the calm, and the cultural infiltration between different social ideologies(Wang 2015). Take China as an example, the Chinese government now have a shielding system to shielding off some websites which have a incompatible cultural and ideology with their own country. This is also a way of cultural resistance to aggression.

Now days is the era of the Internet era and the era of big data, the global information dissemination faster and faster. The protection of State Border, especially from the defense of culture, this aspect of data and Internet must also be defensive(Yu&Qiu 2008). If country A wants to convey some information into country B, it will make a fuss from the big data. Then country B also must have something corresponding to do, the design of country B’s border defense will be designed from the aspect of make a defense system to screening and filtration these risk information.

South Korean soldiers open a gate for a North Korean train at the demilitarized zone (DMZ) in Goseong, east of Seoul May 17, 2007. Two trains from North and South Korea crossed the heavily armed border on Thursday, restoring for the first time an artery severed in the 1950-1953 fratricidal war and fanning dreams of unification. It took the two Koreas 56 years to send the trains -- one starting in the South and one in the North -- across the Cold War's last frontier for the runs of about 25 km (15 miles). Another point of the future border defense is that the border surveillance in future will be more intelligent and with more technology(Qing 2010). In reality, for the border defense architecture design, distributed surveillance system is very important. Today’s border defense line is most construction of low threat, such as barbed wire, etc., or natural moat. It won’t such dependent on sentry lines and guard situation like now days, it will substitution of the electronic monitoring alert system, and even can use to prevent the invasion of alien species.
